1. What Frenchly is

Frenchly is a free revision tool that helps GCSE French students study vocabulary. You upload photos of your vocab lists, and we use AI to generate flashcards, fill-the-gap exercises, matching games, and translation challenges.

2. Your account

You sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. One account per person — don't share accounts or create multiple accounts.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use Frenchly for its intended purpose: studying French vocabulary. You must not:

  • Upload content that is illegal, offensive, or unrelated to language learning
  • Attempt to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or spam the platform
  • Circumvent rate limits or security measures

4. AI-generated content

Frenchly uses Google Gemini to extract vocabulary and generate exercises. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. Frenchly is a study aid, not a replacement for your teacher or textbook. Always verify important information with your teacher.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the vocab lists you upload. By uploading, you grant Frenchly permission to process your images through AI for the purpose of extracting vocabulary. We do not claim ownership of your content.

6. Service availability

Frenchly is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep the service running, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

7. Rate limits

To keep the service free and fair, we apply rate limits on AI-powered features (vocab extraction and exercise generation). These limits reset hourly. Attempting to bypass rate limits may result in account suspension.

8. Limitation of liability

Frenchly is a free tool built by a student. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of this service, including but not limited to incorrect translations, lost data, or exam results. Use at your own discretion.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Frenchly after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
